An audio-only presentation of a do-it-yourself home energy guide. The presenter, John Russell, is an electrical engineer. He offers a powerful personal story for building both your own solar panels (under $200 per panel), and wind turbine (under $100 per unit).
The best thing about this guide is the videos – if you have the patience to listen to the introduction before you buy the product. These videos make the set-up process easy, and the process requires a smaller budget than, for example, the Green DIY Energy guide requires.

The author of this do-it-yourself home energy guide makes a good audio-only presentation on building your own solar panels - under $200 per panel, but he’s a little deceptive. There is no written narrative to learn about the product – only an audio in which Ben Ford, the narrator, explains you’ll be listening for only 6 minutes. Turns out, his “story” about how he got off the grid and how you can buy his product runs 27 minutes!
This guide is made to give you better options for less expensive materials to be used in making your own solar panel and wind turbine systems at the expense of sacrificing some quality.
There’s no way to stop, rewind or forward the presentation. Ben does a good job, and he’s inspirational, but, in my judgment, it takes too long to get to the point. There are two bonuses…a guide on how to build your own wind turbine, and how to build a home generator. In reality, the cost of his “how to” video guides and eBooks including bonuses is $47.00.
He tells you $47.00 is the basic price for just the solar panel guide, but to get the “ultimate” program, which includes the wind turbine guide and a guide to build a home generator, it’s $67.00.

The HoJo Magnetic Generator DIY guide invented by Howard Johnson is presented in a 3-page website with a video presentation at the beginning. This product is unique in that it is a magnetic force generator – designed to rotate in perpetual motion – not associated with solar panels or wind turbines. The narrator does not speak highly of solar panels or wind turbines.
Johnson died in 2008, but not before obtaining three patents. The step-by-step manual is described by an unidentified narrator in a 15 minute audio presentation. The web page and audio claim the free-spinning device can be built by anyone in 1-2 days for about $100.00.
The device is designed to produce free electricity to run home appliances only saving you 30% or more on your electric bill. The narrator employs a lot of scare tactics and hype claiming the power companies are trying to force the website to be taken down, because the device threatens their economic future.
